Malaysians React To The Christchurch Terror Attack

The internet is abuzz with messages of condemnation and condolences over the Christchurch terror attack that shook New Zealand (and, the world!) yesterday. The shooting at two mosques claimed 49 lives, but also affected are two Malaysians, who are injured in the attack. While we can’t digest why and what propels any one to commit a mass murder of this scale (or any scale, really), we know that we definitely don’t stand for violent acts like this.

Malaysians from all walks of life have been vocal about their thoughts over the issue. And, here are reactions and messages of support by local celebrities and personalities to the victims and families of the attack.

“I strongly condemn the shootings carried out by terrorists on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, that killed and injured dozens of people, including two Malaysians. My heartfelt sympathies go out to the victims and families during this difficult period. I also pray for strength for the Muslim communities there who must be terrified at this time. I stand together with Jacinda Arden and her administration in condemning this heinous crime.
